I almost married Barry Zito.
For those who don't know, Barry Zito is the most attractive baseball player. Ever. He is ginormously tall (6'4") and has the most lovely brown eyes. He plays for the Oakland A's. He won the Cy Young a few years ago, has quite the wicked curve, and looks really adorable in those tall socks. Not many boys call pull that off, you know. And I almost married him.
You see, he went to UCSB. And as he is only two years older than I, we were there at the SAME TIME. Which clearly means I was very close to become Mrs. Barry Zito.
I even knew guys on the baseball team... for god's sake, my weightlifting coach was the baseball team's assistant coach. (I know you think I've never exercised. Not true. I used to be quite in shape. Mostly due to outside influence, however. If you didn't work out, they benched you.)
So you see, Barry Zito and I are star-crossed lovers. He is pining for me this very minute!
In other wedding news, Jeff and I are still trying to figure out how one goes about planning a wedding. We would much rather play video games and reread Harry Potter than think about flowers. I like flowers, don't get me wrong, but it seems like some brides really really like flowers. And shirts that say "The Future Mrs. So-and-So" (I'm not making that up. I saw them on theknot.com and also saw one on a real person).
I think the problem is that I never really thought about what my wedding would be like. Being the critical person I am, I knew what I didn't want it to look like. No bows. No pink poofy dresses. None of the following colors: fuschia, pink, lavender. No bad food. But what I actually want? Well, gosh. I don't know. Alcohol, I guess.
Wow, alcohol was the first thing that came to mind. Apparently I'm an alcoholic. Good to know.
I guess I want simple things. Simple dress. Good food. Friends and family. But color schemes? Cakes? Decorations? I have no earthly idea. And the new Harry Potter book is coming out next week! I don't have time to plan a wedding!

Going along with your way of thinking, if you almost married Barry Zito then I almost married JT Snow because he is from Long Beach and I go to Long Beach state. I'm glad you didn't marry Barry though because he may be hot, but my brother is cooler!
But don't you see, Pen? We were there at the SAME TIME (more or less).
Jeff is cooler. And doesn't do silly things with his hair.
Yes, but I'm sure JT Snow and I have been in Long Beach at the SAME TIME. So yes, I almost married JT Snow!!
Also, Barry does do strange things with his hair...but remember the time Jeff tried to grow a beard when he came back from Italy...hmmm

Hm, well I think things ended up for the best. And I think it's a good sign that you haven't had your whole wedding down to the linens planned. Shows you're more excited about being married than the wedding.
Looking forward to coming up there in a few weeks!

I do wedding photography.. no thats not an offer or anything.. just you mentioned you dont know how to plan a wedding .. think of things you like.. cake for example.. you need cake at a wedding.. so call a place that makes cakes go look at some and pick one out.. you need booze at a wedding.. ask your friend what they like to drink and go to a liquor store and buy it.. etccc etccc remember.. now some of this stuff costs way too much money only because its for a wedding so dont tell them its for a wedding.. and see if you can get it cheaper.. like hey.. you need a pretty white dress.. to wear on a certian day.. only once.. but you arent getting married.. just need a stunning dress that will make everyone fall over with envy at your beauty.. not too hard to do.. It will all work out seriously.. just have fun with it from my experience really and truely the best weddings I have photographed had no plan no time schedule that you had to live or die by.. the more go with the flow you can make it the more fun you will have with the whole process which infact can be very confusing and daunting.
